The Classroom
Grade 4
invisible disabilities
The 4th grade program is about invisible disabilities. This unit focuses on learning styles and learning differences. The first session is about the 9 types of intelligences with activities highlighting 4 of these—verbal, logical, visual, and interpersonal intelligences. The second session explores learning differences and involves activities that simulate what it would be like to have a learning difference. The various activities include reading, writing, arithmetic, and social skill differences. The goal is for students to understand that we have all of these intelligences to varying degrees, and we can work to strengthen each one.
